A snippet: The forest kingfisher (Todiramphus macleayii), also known as the Macleay's or blue kingfisher, is a species of kingfisher in the Halcyonidae family, also known as tree kingfishers. It is a predominantly blue and white bird. It is found in Indonesia, New Guinea and coastal eastern and northern Australia. Like many other kingfishers, it hunts invertebrates and small frogs and lizards.

Red-browed Firetail - Neochmia temporalis

This is a beautiful and nice little bird often seen in large groups. This day we saw 10 of them. They reminded me of a bird I saw in Honolulu in 2013, the Common waxbill. You often see them foraging in the grass. And you notice them because of the red markings.

This is a bird I´m not quite sure about. It was the name I was given but for some reason the coloring around the eyes dont really matches what I have seen on other images on the net. If it is wrong, please tell me so I can correct it. As you can see it is having "breakfast" given food by the visitors.

This was the bird I did see almost every day when I was in Queensland. In some places they were almost an annoyance running all over the place. I did see one nest and it was huge.

I´m not all sure but I think the chick in my images was less then a month old. This was at Cassowary house and the pair had two chicks. I did see all four of them but it was impossible to get them in one pic. I think they were daily guests at Cassowary House feeder.

Sometimes things just get too busy. In this case I was to busy getting shots of the cassowary to really pay attention to this one. My mistake I can see now. I was surprised to see I could get anything out of these images :)
