I´m not all sure but I think the chick in my images was less then a month old. This was at Cassowary house and the pair had two chicks. I did see all four of them but it was impossible to get them in one pic. I think they were daily guests at Cassowary House feeder.

ReplyDeleteThat is a cool bird! Neat to see how it looked as a chick!
ReplyDeleteI've lived in Cairns for 2years now and never seen one wild. I think I need to get out more or get to the right place at the right time. They really are the weirdest looking bird. Kind of like a giant turkey x emu x dinosaur.
ReplyDeleteSuch a strong looking bird, and so colorful! The face looks quite fierce, the shape reminds me of a preying mantis somehow. The chick is cute, but also looks very strong with the hefty legs compared to a chicken. It would be fun to watch the transformation to an adult.
