Acc to wiki this duck is nomadic only to Queensland so we were very lucky to see a few of them. Two in total from what I remember. It has a special flat bill. Reminding of the Northern shoveler.
And the Freckled duck was only one bird

I think this might have been the mating season for them so maybe they were preparing for that. Anyway, it was fun to watch.

This seems to be a mixed group with Brolga and Sarus Crane

The main difference between the two seem to be the coloring in the head. Brolga is a common crane in Queensland.
