 Pink-eared Duck - Malacorhynchus membranaceus
© NF Photo 140910, Nyleta Wetlands, Queensland, Australia

Acc to wiki this duck is nomadic only to Queensland so we were very lucky to see a few of them. Two in total from what I remember. It has a special flat bill. Reminding of the Northern shoveler.
And the Freckled duck was only one bird
Thanks Stewart for correcting me. .

  1. Pear eared duck, now that is a weird name. Can you see a pink ear? Great shots! Have a great day!

  2. I had never heard of these before, very pretty!

  3. Nice pictures of the ducks. Pretty sure that first one is a Freckled Duck.

  4. I love freckles and now I have seen them on a duck ... the best of two worlds. What awesome captures, Monica ... and even Pink Ears, how cool :)
