Black-throated Finch, Star Finch and Brown Falcon

Click to see with Light box

Black-throated Finch - Poephila cincta - Bältesastrild
Star Finch - Neochmia ruficauda - Sävastrild,
(The Star Finch is the one with red on it´s forehead and bill.)

Brown Falcon - Falco berigora - Brunfalk

A dry wetland with hardly any water at all hosted some nice spices. The top images shows 2 different species of finch. A bit too far off but the group did not dare go any closer. Afraid to scare them off. Above, in the tree, was another one watching it all.

  5. Nice collection of finches. I had hoped that I would get some finch shots when I was in Darwin last year - but the birds had other ideas!
