Southern Boobook - Ninox novaeseelandiae - Australisk spökuggla

This little guy actually lived at the Lodge. And was very curious about the visitors. When I was on my way back to my own cabin I noticed it standing on the path. Trying to take shots was devastating until somebody noticed and came with a flashlight. Saving the day. Or, night?. Got a few shots before it took off.

He looks very owlish ... but cute as can be. Never heard of this bird. As Stewart will tell you, I have never heard of most birds in Australia ... that is why it is on my Bucket list :) Great shot and thank you to the person with the flashlight :)
