We has already seen the Cassowary the first day. his day we did seek out some wild ones and found a family, two adults and one chick, walking the forest. To my friends' dismay these came really close. The young headed my way and came as close as a meter from me. And the adult following. I stayed put as I did not want to disturb them or make them nervous. Could be harmful to me to. In the forest and so close I could not get good shots. But I have some from the first day.

I think the last image was quite cool for an abstract, don´t you agree?

  6. They are awesome to look at, but word has it that they are very agresive and can do a lot of damage with their giant claws (or talons if that is what they are called). Brave you were paid off with awesome pictures. I know standing still is the right thing to do, but my heart would have been going pitter-patter :)

  7. Such a fascinating bird, especially that interesting topknot! I'm surprised they made it so close to you, but glad there was no problem.
