Rainbow Lorikeet - Trichoglossus haematodus

I was able to study the pair for a while as they obviously was building a nest. I´m not sure what tree it was or what the community, somewhere between Cattana Wetlands and Cairns, we were in.  But this was in the middle of a small town. If they really was building a nest they would probably get into trouble in a couple o days. It looks like a flower.

  8. Nice pictures. I love seeing these noisy, crazy birds around. You have a few choices of where it it was between Cairns city and Cattana, maybe Holloways Beach or Machans Beach or just the outer suburbs. I love that you got them in flight and so clear. I haven't managed that. They could have just been eating.
